SpeakEasy N.O.W. Expert Members chose Taking Control of my Life, as our People’s Parliament topic for 2025.
We spoke to lots of people with a learning disability to understand what this meant to them and some of the things that stop them being able to take control. We have written a report to share these experiences and say what can be done to help people with a learning disability take control. This includes having the right support and understanding of important issues and information. We think that it is important people with a learning disability are able to make mistakes and learn from these and that we understand about taking responsibility too.
